For Investors
Know what you are buying, and what you already own.
Private equity, serial acquirers and portfolio operators run on software development they cannot see. Arrio reads the code across your portfolio and puts it on one comparable scale, from deal diligence to ongoing oversight.
The problem
Software development is the biggest thing you cannot see in a deal.
In most transactions, software development is among the largest sources of value and risk, and the least legible. Diligence still leans on management interviews, vendor decks and a data room that describes activity, not quality.
AI has widened the gap. Code volume is up, teams feel faster, and the link between spend and value is harder to read than ever. A codebase can look healthy in a deck and carry years of debt underneath.
You cannot price, improve or compare what you cannot measure. Across a portfolio, that blind spot multiplies.
What Arrio does
One independent read on the code, across the whole portfolio.
Arrio goes to the code itself and grounds it in the spend, then rolls it up across companies on one comparable, multi-currency scale. Insights flow from every company up to one view: where the money goes, how good the work is, the technical risk, and whether the AI shift is paying off. One customer, ten or twenty companies, one picture.
Where it applies
From diligence to exit
01Pre-deal diligence
What you get
An independent read on code health, technical debt and team dependency before you sign, from the commit history itself.
The outcome
Know whether the code is worth what they are asking, and price the risk in.
02Post-acquisition baseline
What you get
A day-one baseline of the software development you just bought, with history included.
The outcome
Start the value-creation plan from what is true, not from the pitch.
03Portfolio-wide benchmarking
What you get
Every holding on the same comparable, multi-currency scale, updated over time.
The outcome
See which companies lead, which lag, and where the value is trapped.
04Value-creation tracking
What you get
Progress against the plan, measured from the work itself rather than board decks.
The outcome
Course-correct in quarters, and evidence the uplift at exit.
05AI-readiness across holdings
What you get
How much of each company’s software is AI-built, and whether it is paying off.
The outcome
A portfolio-wide view of who is capturing the AI shift and who is exposed.
06Exit readiness
What you get
An independent, defensible picture of software quality and trajectory.
The outcome
Walk into the sale with evidence a buyer can trust.
How it works
From a two-week diligence read to continuous portfolio oversight.
- 01
Scope the portfolio.
A briefing, then agreement on which companies, or which target, to read first.
- 02
Read-only access.
Arranged within the deal process, or set up per company, including inside their own cloud.
- 03
The first reading.
Code health, cost and AI-uptake within days, rolled up on one comparable scale.
- 04
Continuous oversight.
For companies you keep, the reading runs continuously, and the companies can use it themselves to improve, on the same scale you see.
FAQ
Before we talk
Ask us anything about the product, the process, or the security posture.
How is this different from standard technical due diligence?
Traditional tech DD is a point-in-time report built largely from interviews and samples. Arrio reads the actual commit history with AI, grounds it in cost, and can keep measuring after the deal on the same scale, across the whole portfolio.
Do you need the target’s cooperation?
For diligence, read-only access is arranged within the process, and the analysis is fast. For companies you already own, setup suits each company’s security posture, including their own cloud.
What exactly do you measure?
Code health and technical debt, effort and cost, delivery, vendor output, and the AI-built share of the work measured against what it delivers.
Where does the code go?
It depends on the setup: read-only access, multi-tenant or inside the company’s own cloud, safe by design. The current detail is in the docs. Read the security docs →
What does it cost?
We do not publish pricing. What an engagement costs depends on the portfolio and what you need from it, so the useful answer comes from a conversation rather than a page. If you would like to know more about our pricing and services, speak to our founders. Speak to our founders →
